Abstract The present paper deals with the fusulinacean zones of the Middle-Upper Carboniferous and Permian formations in the Japanese Islands, along with a description of stratigraphy and the fusulinacean faun...as known up to the earlier time in 1966. Chapter Ⅰ is devoted to a general consideration of the fusulinacean zones and the divisions of the Middle-Upper Carboniferous and Permian. Chapters Ⅱ to X respectively are concerned with the zone of Millerella (Onimaruan and Kamitakaran Stages), the zone of Profusulinella (Atetsuan Stage), the zone of Fusulinella (Akiyoshian Stage), the zone of Fusulina (Kurikian Stage), the zone of Triticites (Hikawan Stage), the zone of Pseudoschwagerina (lower-middle Sakamotozawan Stage), the zone of Parafusulina (upper Sakamotozawan-Nabeyaman Stage), the zone of Neoschwagerina (Akasakan Stage), and the zone of Yabeina-Lepidolina (Kuman Stage).show more
