In the classroom, children are often faced with interpersonal conflicts. Although interpersonal conflicts have tended to be considered as the negative affairs in past research, they can also have posi...tive effects on both individuals and groups. In previous studies on interpersonal conflicts in the classroom, the practical uses of their positive effects have not been enough discussed. And the ways of support for children to acquire the attitude and the skills to effectively resolve interpersonal conflicts have not been investigated sufficiently. The purpose of this paper is to review the findings of the previous studies of interpersonal conflicts in terms of (a) methods to study interpersonal conflicts in the classroom, (b) types of situations in which interpersonal conflicts occur, (c) types of interpersonal conflict resolution strategies which are employed by children, (d) the effects which are brought by the use of these strategies, and (e) factors which determine which strategy a child will employ. Finally, the need for future studies of interpersonal conflicts in the classroom are proposed and discussed.
学級集団において, 子どもはしばしば対人葛藤に直面する。従来の研究において, 対人葛藤はネガティブな事態として見なされがちであったが、個人および集団に対してポジティブな効果ももたらしうる。従来の学級集団における対人葛藤に関する研究では, 対人葛藤がもたらすポジティブな効果の活用に関して十分に議論がなされていない。また, 子どもが対人葛藤を効果的に処理するのに必要な態度やスキルを獲得するための援助方法についても十分に検討されていない。そこで本論文では, (a)学級集団における対人葛藤を研究するための方法, (b)対人葛藤が生起する状況, (c)子どもが用いる対人葛藤処理方略, (d)それらの方略を用いることでもたらされる効果, および(e)子どもが用いる対人葛藤処理方略を規定する要因の観点から, 過去の対人葛藤に関する研究の知見をレビューする。その上で、学級集団における対人葛藤に関する研究の今後の展望を示し, 議論する。続きを見る
