| 概要 | Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is an ongoing global disaster that has significantly impacted public health, economic, social, and safety implications. Objective: We summar...ize the literature on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of university students. Furthermore, we present our clinical experience with students suffering from COVID-19-related problems. Methods: Data were collected from PubMed, Igaku Chuo Zasshi, and PsycINFO by combining key terms related to COVID-19 and mental health of university students. For our survey, we included research papers published until September 30, 2020. Additionally, telephone interviews were conducted with students at high risk of depression based on an online mental health screening test. Results: We identified 37 studies, as well as 29 studies on depression, 26 on anxiety disorder, 17 on psychological problems (stress, fatigue, anger, loneliness, and despair), 11 on the living environment (diet, exercise, interpersonal relationships, financial status, and housing), 7 on addiction (alcohol dependence and substance abuse), 7 on protective factors (resilience and social support), 6 on posttraumatic stress disorder, 5 on suicidal ideation (including self-injury), and 4 on sleep disorders. From the telephone interviews, we identified that many students had various problems associated with campus closure due to COVID-19. Conclusions: If COVID-19-related issues is persisted, further support is required for students with mental health problems.続きを見る |
