概要 |
Severe gust winds hit the eastern Kyushu on September 17, 2006. According to Miyazaki Local Meteorological Observatory, the gust winds in the regions of Miyazaki Prefectures were caused by tornadoes a...ssociated with Typhoon Shanshan(0613). The most severe damage at Nobeoka City was classified as a very strong one in Japan, and caused nearly unprecedented damage to residential buildings and public facilities, and a train was derailed. According to the Miyazaki-Prefecture government, 3 deaths and 143 injured persons were caused, and more than 1300 residential houses and buildings were damaged. The damage and some weather records indicated that the gusty winds were caused by a tornado classified as F2 on the Fujita scale. The authors report here the investigations on the damage to building and residential houses at Miyazaki and Oita Prefectures based on information from governmental meteorological stations and NeWMeK, and our findings of post disaster investigation.続きを見る
