九州大学宮崎演習林の冷温帯林において,キュウシュウジカ(Cervus nippon nippon Temminck)による摂食の影響を受けて変化したスズタケ(Sasamorpha borealis(Hack.)Nakai)群落の分布と生育状況について調査した.三方岳団地及び萱原山団地では,かつてはスズタケが優占する林床植生が存在したが,現在では,健全なスズタケ群落はほとんど消滅し,桿だけを残し枯死...した群落や,群落が消滅して裸地化した箇所が大部分を占めた.一方,津野岳団地では従来の健全な群落が見られた.しかし一部にはシカ摂食害を受けた群落が見られたことから,これらの群落も,今後シカ密度の増加に伴い,消滅していくと予想された.これらのスズタケ群落の植生変化は天然林の維持機構に多大な影響を及ぼすことから,今後も植生変化のモニタリングが必要であることが示唆された.
Growth situation of Sasamorpha borealis (Hack.) Nakai in Miyazaki Forest of Kyushu University was studied. Recently, S. borealis has been declined by the impact of increase in shika deer (Cervus nippon nippon Temminck). There were the understory vegetation occupied by S. borealis before. But now, there were scarcely the normal communities of S. borealis in Sanpo-dake area and Kayahara-yama area, and much communities were consisted of dead columns by the impact of the deer forage and the parkland landscape. On the other hand, there were normal communities of S. borealis in Tsuno-dake area. But a few communities declined by the deer impact. Consequently, they will be disappeared according to the increase in the density of the shika deer. These changes in the vegetation of S. borealis communities is much militating the conservation of natural forest, so that monitering of vegetation must be continued hence.続きを見る
