| Abstract |
The purpose of this study was twofold: (1) to analyze how differently discussion unfolds, depending upon its goal and (2) to classify and characterize the pattern of discussions that unfold differentl...y by goals, at the macro-level (i.e., the continual process of accessing whether causal links exist between topics) and micro-level(i.e., the continual process of detecting logical deseripancies within a topic). Five college students each in 6 groups were instructed to discuss for 30 minutes what kind of consequences. 'Abolition of the current college entrance examination system' might lead to, after 2 of 6 groups received either one of the following instructions for 3 discussion goals: Convergence goal (“Reach a group decision by examining all possible consequences and selecting the most influential one”）, Divergence goal ( “Pint out at least 5 problems caused by the abolition after examinig all possible consequences”）, and no goal “Discussion all posible consequences freely”）Main findings were as follows: (1) patterns of discussion unfolding depended upon both the frequency of collective reflective thinking and given goal, (2) 4 patterns were discerned and characterized by how frequently one engaged in accessing at the macro-level and detecting at the micro-level: (a) Redundant Pattern, (b) Stand still Pattern, (c) Zigzag Pattern, and (d) Spiral Patterns.
本研究の目的は、以下の二つである。(1)目標により、議論の展開がどのように異なるかを解析することと(2)マクロレベル(トピックス間に通常リンクが存在するかどうかのアクセスの連続的なプロセス)と、ミクロレベル(トピック内で非逐次にロジカルに検索する連続的プロセス)での議論の展開が目標によりどのように分類でき、特徴付けられるかということである。6つのグループにおいて5つの大学の学生が、30分間、因果関係について議論するように支持された。「現行の大学入試システムの廃止」が先行し、6グループの残りのうちの2グループは、３つの議論の目標をそれぞれの指示に従って受けた。収束したゴール、（「グループの決定を、すべての可能な結果を吟味し、最も適当なものを選ぶ」）、発散したゴール（「すべての結果を吟味したあとに少なくとも５つの結果が、廃止の後に起こりうるとする」）、そして、ゴールのないもの（「自由にすべてのおこりうる結果を議論する」）ものがある。これらはいかに従う。(1)与えられたゴールと、集団で反映した考えによって、議論が展開されていくパターン、（２）４つのパターンが認識され、マクロレベルにアクセスするときと、ミクロレベルを検索するときにどのように頻繁に関係するかにより区分分けされたもの：（a）冗長パターン、(b)たちっぱなしのパターン、（c）ジグザグパターンと(d)螺旋パターンがある。 show more
