| Abstract |
To strengthen frame structures against earthquake forces, lateral stiffeners are essential. The Eccentrically Braced Frame (EBF) system increases stiffness and provides good ductility through horizont...al link beams. Ground Granulated Blast-Furnace Slag (GGBFS) improves concrete’s mechanical properties by reducing porosity due to its finer particles compared to ordinary Portland cement (OPC). This study investigates the lateral behavior and capacity of EBF braced frames with horizontal link beams, focusing on closer spacing of transverse reinforcement combined with GGBFS. Results show that while concentrically braced frames (CBF) have the highest load-carrying capacity, EBF-V-15 specimens demonstrate superior cyclic behavior, ductility, and stiffness.show more
