Abstract |
Two-dimensional Navier-Stokes and energy equations are numerically solved for laminar air flow between conducting parallel plates with five discrete sources heated at different rate. Parametric calcul...ations are performed to determine the effect on velocity, wall temperature and wall heat flux distributions of Reynolds number (500≦Re≦2000), modified Grash of number (0.5×10^6≦Gr^*≦2.0×10^6), and local-to-mean heat flux ratio (qwi/qm=1 and 2). A general method of predicting the maximum temperature on each heat source is proposed. Comparing the numerical results, it is shown that by using the method the maximum temperatures can be predicted within a practical accuracy for various ratios of the local-to-mean heat flux.show more
