Abstract |
Manganese ore deposits of Sambagawa metamorphic zone are classified into two types: (1) Muramatsu-type, i.e. colloform or crystallized braunite-piedmontite-quartz bearing schistose ores, and (2) repla...cement-type, i.e. various manganese oxide-silicate-carbonate ores including relict texture of the schistose braunite.- The association of the latter type as hausmannite-tephroite-rhodonite-spessartine-tinzeniteneotocite-rhodochrosite-calcite is formed in the schistose or brecciated Muramatsu type. Geological and mineragraphical properties of these manganese deposits and their ores are described, and genetical problems are discussed in this paper.show more
