Abstract |
The neoclassical tearing mode (NTM), which is a possible candidate to drive magnetic island, is the tearing mode nonlinearly driven by the perturbed bootstrap current via neoclassical electron viscosi...ty under the condition of Δ' < 0, where classical tearing mode is stable. The diamagnetic drift stabilizes the tearing mode and gives rise to finite rotation frequency. Furthermore, the diamagnetic rotation frequency of magnetic island plays quite important role for the nonlinear stability of NTM. Therefore, effects of the neoclassical electron viscosity on the drift-tearing mode should be investigated. In this study, we examine effects of the neoclassical electron viscosity (the perturbed bootstrap current) on the drift-tearing mode numerically and analytically.show more
