Abstract The genus Ceutorhynchoides Colonnelli (Ceutorhynchini, Ceutorhynchinae) is recorded for the first time from Japan, with descriptions of two new species: C. squamatus sp. noc. (Ryukyus) and C. styracis... sp. nov. (Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu). In addition, Hainokisaruzo gen. nov.., which is related to Ceutorhynchoides, is established for three Japanese species : H. japonicus sp. nov. (type species; Honshu and Kyushu), H. nipponensis (Hustache), comb. nov. (Honshu and Kyushu), and H. infuscatus sp. nov. (Honshu, Shikoku, Kyushu, and Ryukyus). Based on morphological reason, Ceutorhynchoides bengalensis Colonnelli, C. notatus Collonnelli, C. topali Colonnelli, C. subcostulatus (Hustache), and C. sinensis Korotyaev from the Oriental Region are transferred to Hainolosaruzo (comb. nov.). as key to species, habitus photographs, and illustrations and SEM photographs of important characters are provided for the Japanese species of both genera. The following host association records are aolso given in this paper: Ceutorhynchoides styracis with styrax japonica Siebold et Zuccarini (Stracaceae), Hainokisarzi japonicus with Symplocos glauca (Thunberg) Koidzumi (Symplocaceae), and H. nipponensis with Symplocoschinensis (Loureiro) Druce (Symplocaceae).show more
