| Abstract |
Slums in Dhaka City have different types of physical, social, and environmental problems because of the lack of local people's consciousness of them and a lack of government facilities in the urban in...formal settlements. However, the development projects try to improve the life quality of the urban poor by providing physical infrastructure, social grants, and environmental support. The objective seeks to clarify the poverty alleviation process in the urban area of Dhaka City. This study organized the field survey, questionnaire survey, interview, and development project review of Dhaka City. It's found out through the survey that the community-based management, performed by both the local people and the local government with the support by development projects, will be possibly sustainable poverty alleviation process.show more
