Pseudoblennius percoides Gunther is a marine sculpin, commonly found on the shallow rocky coast of Japan. The author operated artificial insemination of this fish on December 7, 1955, at the Mekari Aquarium in Moji City, Kyushu, and observed egg development and hatched larvae (P1. 1～12). The eggs are sticking to each other and laid in an egg mass, not adhering to other substances. The egg is bluish green or yellowish green, spherical in shape measuring 1.6～2.0 mm in diameter with several colorless oil globules measuring 0.05～O.3 mm which become united into a single one in the course of development. Hatching took place in about 17 days at the water temperature 16.2-18.6℃. Newly hatched larva is 5.6 mm in total length with several melanophores and xanthophores. Some larvae lack the melanophores on the tail. The myotome number is 10-.41+29=39-40 (vertebral number of this fish is 13+24=37). In one day after hatching many melanophores appeared on the tail . In 4 days the yolk is almost consumed.
アナハゼ Pseudoblennius percoides Gunther はカジカ科 Cottidae に属し, 東北地方から九州地方に亘つて普通に見られる岩礁性の沿岸魚である. 全長200mm位になり, 磯釣, 磯刺網などによつて捕獲される. アナハゼ類の初期発生については, 1932年1月, 内田恵太郎氏が朝鮮の鎮海湾内で採集されたマボヤの体内から魚卵塊を見出し, 卵及びその卵から孵化した仔魚から考えて, アナハゼ属, 若しくはこれに近縁な魚の卵であろうと推定報告されている以外には殆ど知られていない. 筆者は1955年12月, 門司市立和布刈水族館で飼育中のアナハゼを用いて人工授精を行い, 孵化後約4日間飼育観察したので卵発生及び仔魚前期について報告する. アナハゼの雄成魚には大きな交接器があるが飼育水槽中で交尾を観察することは出来ず, 又同一水槽中で飼育していた数尾の雌の腹部を切開して得た卵巣内からも受精卵を検出することは出来なかつた.
