The study ai...ms to establish the method and indicators for evaluating the compactness of railway-station-centered district, which have the potentiality to be developed as transit-oriented neighborhoods. First, the study establishes a set of the indicators evaluating the compactness of district based on the review of the theorems on urban density. Secondary, through it applies the constructed evaluation method with the indicators to Fukuoka City as case study, and clarify the advantages of the constructed method.show more
