Abstract	This paper examines the Japanese post-war “Intellectual-debate（” chishikijin-ron）that had been made by the Japanese intellectuals themselves in the early-post WW Ⅱ years. The “Intellectual-debate” was... the catalyst for an exploration of post-war Japanese democratic thought. The “Intellectual-debate” raised various kinds of discussions about post-war democracy and the Marxist theory of revolution, for instance, the relationship between intellectuals and the common people, distance between the knowledge［culture］ and wisdom of living, the struggle between idealism of modernist intellectuals and determinism of Marxist intellectuals.show more
