Abstract |
Two-dimensional Navier-Stokes and energy equations are numerically solved for laminar air flow between insulated parallel plates with five discrete sources heated at different rate. Parametric calcula...tions are performed to determine the effect on velocity and temperature distributions of Reynolds number (500 leqq Re leqq 2000), modified Grashof number (0.5 \times 106 leqq Gr* leqq 2.0 \times 106), and loca1-to-mean heat flux ratio (qwi/qm =1 and 2). A general method to predict the maximum temperature on each heat source is proposed. It is proved that by using the method the maximum temperatures can be predicted within a practical accuracy for various ratios of the local-to-mean heat flux.show more
