Abstract	The property of median-unbiasedness is discussed in relation to other probability properties of point estimators. Median-unbiased estimators are given for the parameters of normal, binomial, and Poiss...on distributions, for which they are shown to be approximately equal to the commonly used mean-unbiased estimators, except with extreme parameter values or very small sample sizes.show more
