概要 |
This research demonstrates the high potential of natural material composites for use as energy-absorbing layers in ballistic armor systems. The study developed ballistic panels from veneer wood modifi...ed with bacterial cellulose through a hot densification process. The results showed that densified veneer and bacterial cellulose composites can be effectively used as hybrid composite panels in conjunction with aramid fabric as an intermediate layer within Multilayer Armor Systems. Ballistic tests demonstrated that these composite panels are impervious to 7.62 mm NATO caliber bullets. Additionally, this hybrid composite excels in energy absorption by capturing ceramic fragments and projectiles, resulting in minimal trauma energy transfer. Overall, the constructed armor structure meets the level III testing criteria according to NIJ 0101.06 standards.続きを見る
