In this report Paspalum distichum was dealt with, native lines in this species were collected from the Nansei Islands and Kumamoto Prefecture. This species grows favourably under wet condition. Under high temperature (30-33℃) conditions the growth rate of this species becomes higher than that of Dallisgrass (Paspalum dilatatum) and the nitrogen response of this species is also higher than that of Dallisgrass. If proper cultivation methods are adopted this native grass can be used as a cultivated species.
