Tateiwa is a famous site of Yayoi-Period of northern Kyusyu, for this site was a factory of stone implements and many pottery coffins were found before the War. In 1958, 1960, We could excavate a grou...p of pottery-coffins by sudden discovery of mirrors in some coffins. We excavated 39 pottery-coffins and 30 pits there. We found bronze mirrors of Pre-Han periods, 1 bronze spear-head, and some iron implements. At that time, people used the stone implements. We think that the a family of the chief of this area had only possessed the mirrors and the metal-implements. Large mirrors of pre-Han period were devided to two types by design. One is arc-design type, and the other is ring-design type. Small mirrors were divided to the same types. The inscriptions of mirrors represent the thought and the literature of Han period. One is described that the happiness is in the sun and the wealth in the moon, It is important that those inscriptions resembles the sentences and the words of "Ch'u-t'su" 楚辞 that Ch'u Yuan 屈原, a poet of Ch'u country was believed to write.続きを見る
