We report the data of the number of germination and survivorship of larch seedlings, which ware counted 4 years after soil scarification treatments. The treatments ware conducted with different strength which removing soil surface layer and the A horizon or deeper when a masting of larch was occurred in Ashoro Research Forest, Kyushu University in 2011. Soil scarification has been conducted to promote natural regeneration of larch stand in Hokkaido region. However, the subsequent regeneration pattern are not uniform across stands in Hokkaido, and the regeneration success rate of larch stands established is not high. In order to clarify the process of the regeneration and relevant factors, it is necessary to conduct continuous observation and verification using experimental sites where the initial conditions of scarification strength and seed supply are clear and comparable. This data provides information on the initial status at the experimental site.
