| Abstract |
伝統的な生活様式が維持されている宮崎県椎葉村大河内地区において，シダ植物5 種，種子植物64種と4類を含む草本植物の伝統的な利用法を複数の年長者から聞き取り調査した。草本植物の用途として最も多かったのは食用であり，24種が利用され，葉や若いシュートといった一般的な山菜としての活用だけなく，4種の根茎からデンプンを得ることで，貴重な食料源としていた。薬草として用いられていたのは9種あり，医薬品が十分...にない環境で，様々な効能を見いだし活用していた。逆に毒草として取り扱われていた種は5種存在した。資材となっていた種は7 種あり，これらから屋根材，縄，蓑，草鞋など生活に不可欠な物資を得ていた。
The traditional usage of herbaceous plants including five fern plants, 64 species and four group of seed plants were studied by hearing investigation for the elder informants in Okawachi area in Shiiba Village, Miyazaki Prefecture. Twenty four species are utilized as food. These species utilized not only as a edible leaves and young shoots, but as starch source, which can be a principal diet. The starch was purified from the rhizomes in four species. Nine species are used as medicinal herbs with different efficacy in the living condition without medicinal products. Five species were treated as poisonous herb. Seven species supplied materials, such as roofing, rope, rain coat and straw sandals.show more
