| Abstract | 九州大学(以下, 本学)は「世界的知の拠点」「アジア指向」を基軸として, 世界的研究・教育拠点形成を目指している. 平成21年度には文部科学省による国際化拠点整備事項(グローバル30, 以下G30)の採択拠点となり, アジアを中心に留学生の受入れを積極的に推し進めている1). 平成25年5月現在, 本学の留学生は85ヶ国・地域から1,969名に上る. 毎年順調に増加しており, 平成32年度末にはお...よそ2倍にあたる3,900名に増やすことを目標としている. これは全学生数の20%を占める数となる. 図書館においても, G30の採択拠点となったことを契機に, 内外のサインの日英併記, 図書館利用案内のパンフレットや館内掲示物の英語表記, 留学生センター教員の協力による日本語学習資料や外国語資料の蔵書構築等を行い, 留学生も日本人学生と同等に図書館を利用できるよう整備を進めてきた.こうしたインフラを整備した現在では，留学生を対象としたガイダンスや講習会を拡充させることを年度計画に盛り込んでおり，特に新入留学生のスタートアップに力を入れている。平成22年度からは，本学留学生サポートセンターが4月と10月に開催する「新入留学生オリエンテーション」にて図書館の利用方法を英語と日本語で紹介している。また，図書館主催の企画としては，平成23年度から「図書館ツアー」を実施している。本稿では，これらの取組みを詳細に報告する。 To establish a more effective approach to providing support for international students, the Kyushu University Library has created four strategic policies to increase the number of participants and to achieve higher satisfaction levels by identifying needs from various perspectives. As a result, in 2013, twice as many library tours and guides were provided for the orientation of new international students as in previous years.
