| 概要 | This paper examines the origins of clapping through Chinese archaeological materials. The authors found clapping figures in archaeological artifacts from the Warring States (475-221 BC) to the Sui Dyn...asty (581-618). This paper has identified fifty examples of artifacts that appear to be figures in the process of clapping or may depict clapping in archaeological artifacts from the Warring States to the Sui Dynasty. Since some of the artifacts have a high likelihood of showing clapping and others have a low likelihood, we first ranked them according to their likelihood using the available materials and reports. Next, we examined the characteristics of the shapes and depictions in these objects, and how they were expressed. The results showed that there were many examples of clapping to music or as part of a performance, but not so many examples of clapping hands for admiration by the audience. We also confirmed that there were various ways to depict clapping, such as the positional relationship between the hands and the body, the way the hands are spread, and the direction of the hands.続きを見る |
