In the Japanese language, the passive is a voice used and also constitutes a grammatical category. There is no such voice in Chinese, where the passive is expressed only by means of functional words a...nd verbs. This difference causes great difficulty to Chinese learners of Japanese. It is important that those engaged in Japanese teaching and translation research how to properly use the passive voice in Japanese. Therefore, the author of this article, through empirical research, will provide a sentence structure analysis of Japanese sentences, along with their Chinese translations, all of which have been taken from a Chinese-Japanese corpus, and specifically focus on the meaning of predicate verbs. The author will attempt to define the different conditions present when the passive is used in Japanese and Chinese, as well as explore the degree to which there might be corresponding factors between the two. The author attaches importance to the practicability of this research and hopes that it will be applied to Japanese- Chinese translation and the teaching of the Japanese language.続きを見る
