| 概要 |
The colonial-era buildings in Yangon have survived wars, natural disasters, and numerous changes of ownership. Many have been repurposed over the years. Today, the biggest threat to these buildings is... neglect and lack of protection. In recent years they have become increasingly vulnerable. After the capital relocation to Naypyidaw in 2005, many of ministerial office buildings were abandoned or left only partially in use. Many were also badly damaged during Cyclone Nargis in 2008. As the country opens up new investments and tourisms, the buildings are in danger of falling prey to property developers as most occupy prime plots of land in the city center. In these situations, to make an inventory of colonial-era buildings in Yangon, this paper aims to report the present condition of the buildings.続きを見る
