| 概要 | This paper explores the way in which wages and employment are determined in the economy where there are two types of employment, regarded as the heterogenous inputs : full-time workers who organize mo...nopoly unions and part-time workers who are not organized. A sufficient condition for the firm to employ the part-timer is that there is flexible working hours for the full-timer. If the distinctive inputs are substitutes and the part-timer's wage rate are constant, it is never optimal for the firm to reduce the full-timers in the recession. Hence, unlike full-time employment, the part-time employment is likely to be adjusted with higher flexibility. The analysis may help to affirm that we should have paid more attention to the siginificant role of part-time employment in the economy.続きを見る |
