An important issue in education systems is the ability to determine the characteristics of a learner and then to provide suitable guidance in response. In this paper a system was built to classify a l...earner’s errors into categories (Kroll 1990, Weltig 2004) with the purpose of identifying the error characteristics of a learner studying English composition.
