In this study, the evaluation system to obtain the slewing characteristics of the stepping motor automatically was constructed. This system was composed of the torque measurement part, the miss step measurement part, the pulse rate measurement part, and the PC for measurement and control. To confirm the effectiveness of this system, the slewing characteristic test was performed, and the drive circuit for the stepping motor was evaluated. The results obtained are summarized as follows: 1) The slewing characteristics was improved with increasing the value of resistance installed between the coil of motor and the power supply for driving. 2) The slewing characteristics was greatly improved by detaching the diode connected with the coil of motor in parallel, and it was confirmed that a high-speed drive to about 1000 (pps) for the resistance value 10 and 15Ω was possible. On the other hand, it became clear that the torque value in about 100 (pps) decreases rapidly by the resonance. 3) From the above results, it was found that this system was able to obtain the slewing characteristics automatically, and the measurement time was required for about 20 minutes.
