| 概要 | The activities of nurses working in the position closest to patients in a medical setting are the base of the medical setting commanding a high level of trust. Formerly, nurses were required to follow... doctors's orders and to be sincere and faithful to their job. Due to heihtened awareness of patientsʼ rights, high quality medical care and nursing has become required, and the need has arisen to clarify the expertise and ethical conduct of nurses. The Japanese Nursing Association is officially announcing the code of ethics for nurses as a professional job. I survey the transition and characteristics of ethical education for hospital nurses who often face ethical problems are outlined based on literatures. Since 2000, the number of literatures concerning ethical education for hospital nurses has increased. The education methods, include the combination of lecture and case examination, and the discussion on dilemma items. It was considered that by talking about what they feel, in addition to leaning knowledge, ethics has become familiar. Concerning ethics in psychiatric nursing, there is a relatively large number of reports, and the main ethical problems are action restrictions, privacy protection, and others, relating to the characteristics of psychiatry. As a result, the need for education for moral sensitivity and ethical behavior was recognized. Furthermore, as the evaluation concerning nursing ethics, Japanese versions of measuring scales developed abroad and original measuring scales have been developed in Japan, therefore, possibilities of appropriate evaluation and comparative discussion are expected. Recently, nursesʼ roles have expanded, and a training system for certified nurses, specialized nurses, and specified medical act nurses began for nurses to have the opportunity to confront new ethical problems. Nursing is the science of practice, and a fruitful approach to ethical education is the desired foundation towards medical care quality improvement.続きを見る |
