続成~低変成堆積岩中の石炭化物の光学的異方性に関する地質学的問題の予察

概要 Reflectance measurement of vitrinite in vegetal organic matter of coal or phytoclasts in sediments is considered as one of the best methods to indicate the rank of coalification or stage of organic me...tamorphism. The value increases with ascending diagenetic to burial and thermal metamorphic processes, and shows optical anisotropic property, bireflectance, at the stage over 1% Normal and unusual anisotropic samples mainly from Southwest Japan with some foreign ones for comparison are examined by microscopic method and by X-ray diffractometry. Extraordinally high bireflectance appears in the samples that were affected by igneous intrusion, though their graphite crystalization was incomplete. Anisotropy caused by tectonic deformation under warm pleoageothermal codition is observed on coaly lamina in the Hyuga Group of mid-to high-catagenetic stage in the Shimanto Terrain of Kyushu. There is a remarkable difference in bireflectance of the same maximum reflectance value between natural and industrial coke, i.e. the former or natural graphitic substance shows stronger bireflectance than the latter. The cause of the difference is attributed to higher pressure condition over long period of reaction at the deeper part of the crust, which might cause natural graphite formation. Thus, the information obtained from the vitrinite reflectance measurement of the high rank coal or coaly matter in catagenetic to metamorphic zone will reveal the difference of the conditions.続きを見る
