Landslides are one of the important natural hazards, particularly on the forests in the moutainous areas. Therefore, So it is desirable to know the landslide susceptible area to avoid or reduce the damage or losses due to landslide disasters. The susceptibility to the slope movements is as index of how prone are the terrain to generate landslides. An objective procedure is often desired to quantitatively support the slope instability assessment. This procedure requires evaluation of the spatially varying terrain conditions as well as the spatial representation of the landslides. On the other hand, recent policy traits of the landslide countermeasures revel that for landslide mitigation and land use restriction it is important to detect moving derections and travel distances as well as to find out the susceptible slope and the tip of landslides with appropriate methods. Hence, a positioning method of the tip of landslide with slope gradients in the zone of depletion is scrutinized and developed here. The method obtained is simple and accurate enough to the practical investigation.
