Fish faura were studied in the Daikon river system, Koga city, Fukuoka prefecture, from 2002 to 2004. Fifty two species were confirmed including Lutjanus ressellii (Kurohoshifuedai, Lutjanidae) and Oligolepis acutipennis (Noborihaze, Gobiidae) which were the first records from Fukuoka prefecture. Fershwater fish recorded were 19 species, of which 16 species were considered native to the river system, indicating that the Daikon river system has a relatively rich fish faunas among the main stream (Daikon river) and the tributaries (Taniyama, Netabi, and Aoyagi rivers) reversed that both the species number and the diversity were positively correlated to the river length/
