To improve the efficiency of a wind turbine, it is more effective to use high-speed wind. A method collecting wind to get high-speed wind was experimentally studied. It was found that the brimmed diff...user was a good device to get high-speed wind. The brimmed diffuser accelerated approaching wind, and wind speed near its inlet became about 1.7 times. Using this brimmed diffuser, we have made a new micro wind turbine and been carrying out field experiment. In order realize the properties of the wind turbine in variable-speed wind, we study the response of the wind turbine to wind-speed change. We propose a model of a micro wind turbine and simple formulas for response time. We compare the formulas with the results of the numerical simulation for the model, and get good agreements with each other.続きを見る
