The author reports on the latest developments observed during a recent trip to the United States. For academic libraries, these observations include how electronic resources are acquired and handled, regional consortial activities, virtual reference, and library facilities . For public libraries, these observations include services to the community, support for small businesses, provision of public computers, stack maintenance using radio frequency identification (RFID), and acquiring outside funding. Finally, the author discusses how participation in the program helped her as a librarian to acquire skills in providing electronic resource services and reference services in an online environment.続きを見る
