| 概要 | Marie Bashkirtseff (1858-84) is a Russian painter, who studied at the Academy Julian in Paris and became famous by her Journal published after her death. But it is scarcely known that a film titled Ma...rie Bashkirtseff (director: Henry Coster/ also known as Affairs of Maupassant, or Das Tagebuch der Geliebten) was taken in 1935 in Austria and released in Italy, France, England, America, Japan and so on. As most biographical pictures (often shortened to biopics) featuring a woman artist have filmed after 1980s, this can be said to be a very early example of this kind of movie. This paper has two purposes. 1) To bring the biographical picture Marie Bashkirtseff back from oblivion. As no film of this movie is found until now, its story should be reconstructed through contemporary written records. 2) To examine biographical pictures of woman artists, including Marie Bashkirtseff, in terms of gender studies. This will help us speculate about the "myth" of a "great" artist.続きを見る |
