概要 |
It is well known that a large air space is needed when we absorb sound in low frequencies by using porous material and many types of resonator are needed when we apply Helmholtz resonator to absorb so...und in low frequencies. Therefore, both porous material and Helmholtz resonator are neither realistic nor practical for use of absorbing walls or absorbing ceilings in small room such as a living room in a house. On the above aspect, sound absorption characteristics of Helmholtz resonator composed of porous materials are examined by using FDTDM to develop a new sound absorbing structure in low frequencies. A rectangular glass fiber with 200mm × 200mm × 150mm (thickness) is employed as a model construction and sound absorption characteristics of this model when various small holes are opened are analyzed by using FDTDM. As a result, it is found that sound absorption in low frequencies can be enlarged by adjusting the size of hole. This implies Helmholtz resonator composed of porous materials can be applicable for practical use of low frequency sound absorption in a small room.続きを見る
