To cope with declining population and aging society, a plan based on “compact city” is promoted in Japan. For this plan It is necessary to establish core areas to accumulate urban functions. But the r...egulations to establish core areas is unclear and differs from place to place. This study aims to clarify necessary core area setting by through analyzing actual city environment and evaluating the city core settings in city planning master plan made by Itoshima city. As the result, we clarified some adequate core areas and figure out similarities and differences from the core area setting by municipality, and the proposed method of creating compact city.続きを見る
