Severe convective storms composed of several rain cells and often organized into a band configuration. Heavy storms accompanied with Typhoon and Baiu are observed using X-band rader of Kyusyu University located at Hitoyoshi. The charactaristics of raincell are analysed from the time variative of horizontal distribution of rader echoes. Rain cells were successively formed at the inner edge of rain band which was upward of wind, and rain cells in the rain band region were steering by the wind of 700 mb level. The characteristic features of rain cell are summarized as follows; 1) Average area of rain cells which contoured by 16 mm/hr intensity was about 10 km*. 2) Cellular echoes have the various life time from 5 minutes to 30 minutes and average of life time was 20 minutes. 3) The mean velocity of rain cells was about 50 km/hr. 4) The distance between a new cell and pre-existing cell was about 5 km and rain cells were formed regularly with period of 10 minutes.
