概要 Official residences located along with the West Sea of the Korean Peninsula have some important meaning as a government-run facility in the era of Koryeo. The book of Koryeo-Do-Gyeong( 『高麗圖經』) publish...ed by Seo Geung (徐兢) of the Chinese Song Dynasty in the early 12th century reveals that Koryeo official residences were established in Heuksan-do island, Gunsan-do island (Gunsanjeong), Ma-do island (Anheungjeong), Jayeon-do island (Kyeongwonjeong) of Taean region, Yeoseong harbor (Byeokranjeong) and other places. Located at a distance of one or two day trip each other, they were usually used to entertain foreign envoys and provide convenience for coast passage and functioned as an institute to execute various rites.
This thesis is mainly focused on Anheungjeong among such official residences on the coast of the West Sea. For Anheungjeong, two regions of Haemi of Seosan and Ma-do island of Taean indicate the same place in historical records. Some argue that Anheungjeong was Anheung harbor or Anheungjin castle, while more recently others maintain that Anheungjeong could have been at Shinjin-do island, located at between Ma-do island and Anheung harbor. Concerning the location of Anheungjeong, the thesis especially re-confirmed as Seo Geung mentioned in Koryeo-Do-Gyeong that the berth place of Anheungjeong was Ma-do island belonged to Geunheung-myeon, Taean-gun of today. The study, however, failed to suggest a concrete place for Anheungjeong in the region of Ma-do island.
Even the fact that Koryeo roof tiles with inscription and celadon were excavated in Shinjin-do island, that discovery does not guarantee a direct link between Shinjin-do island and Anheungjeong. Therefore, more detailed and comprehensive study would be needed before discussion of it.
Whereabout of Gomandojeong of Boryeong, the former Anheungjeong has not been clearly identified and the researcher of this paper again made sure that Song-do island was Goman-do island but nevertheless, it is sorry for not presenting archaeological evidence for it. Since the investigation of Taean vessel, a series of research activities including Ma-do island No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 vessels have continued in the seas of Ma-do island, which has helped to more understand the middle age history of Korea. But it is thought that a general survey on the near islands and coast areas along with the current water investigation will be highly required.
