| 概要 |
This paper concerns the so-called de-complement constructions in Mandarin Chinese, which is the construction in which the verb is followed by a complement marker de and the repeated verb. It starts wi...th the assumptions that the Case theory of Mandarin Chinese should contain the following statements. (i) Chinese has V, N and Adv as syntactic categories. Among them, only V can be a Case assigner. (ii) All the Cases must be discharged. (iii) Some transitive Vs in Chinese assign two Cases, while the other transitive Vs assign only one Case. This paper then proposes that Chinese has at least two types of nominalizers; one is the element de in de-complement constructions, and the other is φ. It is shown that the properties of de-complement constructions are accounted for by positing that these elements have different conditions in distribution, specified as follows. (iv) Nominalizer de can attach to any type of V, and absorbs all the Cases that the V has. (v) Nominalizer φ cannot attach to Vs having two Cases.続きを見る
