The objective of this study is to grasp the mechanical characteristics to shear loading about the unreinforced brick masonry extracted from the Kyushu University Headquarters Building 1 and 3. Core an...d prism specimens for the double shear loading test were extracted from the walls of these unreinforced brick masonry buildings, and were made with the bricks and mortar whose strength were similar to those of the actual masonry structure’s components. As a result of the loading tests, some basic mechanical characteristics to shear loading about the brick masonry were clarified，for instance, shear strength, shear stress-drift angle relations, apparent shear rigidity and so forth. It was found out that the drift angles when the shear strength reached to the maximum were 0.8-5.4 times of the angles when the elastic deformation would be kept until the maximum strength.続きを見る
