With an oxidation with singlet oxygen, both fusicocca-2(6),3-diene and fusicocca-2,5-diene, biogenetic precursors of some oxygenated 5-8-5-membered tricyclic diterpenoids, respectively afforded the so...le endoperoxides, stereospecifically. These endoperoxides were isomerized thermally under very mild conditions to bisepoxides and keto epoxides.
