概要 |
This essay focuses on the compositional activities to date of composer Shigenobu Nakamura. In this essay, I present the subject of musical composition in contemporary Japan, explain how I came to tack...le this subject, and detail the ways in which I intend to approach the subject in future. I have come to engage in a type of music composition in which a Western musical arts approach is the norm. The history of Western musical arts can be understood based on a progressive view of history, while the value assigned to Western musical arts is based on their "novelty." I have also composed avant-garde music in the past; the "novelty" of such music, however, has alienated the audience because the main focus of an evaluation of novelty is limited to compositional technique. This means that avant-garde music only exists in an extremely restricted community. In this paper, I propose that "audiovisual poems," "rendition software art," and music compositions, each of which are dependent upon a system of classical music, are musical arts that engender novelty without alienating the audience.続きを見る
