The relationship between d.b.h. and surface area of foliage was investigated for an AKAMATSU (Pinus densiflora Sieb. et Zucc.) stand in northern Kyushu. The result obtained runs as follows： (TABLE) Ko...zlowski-Schumacher's formula for the surface area of a needle fascicle is shown to give the surface area of a long right circular cone, and the corresponding formula for a long elliptic paraboloid is derived from the general formula for a paraboloid standing on an elliptic base.続きを見る
