概要 |
This study attempts to understand the significance of elderly peoples' experiences while going out in their daily life. Replacing the functionalistic perspective in previous studies in the field, I ad...opted an approach using the "accompanying" method, which tries to follow and understand local elderly people while they are out, what they do (action) and how they feel (experience) in the "here and now". Case description and interpretation through "abduction" processes led to the three main concepts of, "Rule", "Routine", "Duration", and others. For each concept, representative episodes were described with theoretical interpretations of their meanings. Further, a conceptual model of "Implication and Inclusion" is proposed as an overarching concept for the meaningful world surrounding elderly peoples' actions/experiences while they are out. Some hypotheses regarding this model as well as the significance of going out for elderly people in daily life are presented and discussed.続きを見る
