近代日本における陶磁器産地の多様性について : 萩焼の展開を中心にして

概要 This paper analyzes Hagi Yaki, in order to consider the diversity of the production area of potteries and porcelains in modern Japan. In Hagi area, pottery's production started about 400 years ago, an...d porcelain's production started about 200 years ago. In the first half of Maiji era, the volume of porcelain's production accounted for about 70% which was 2.5 times of the pottery's production. However, after that, porcelain's production decreased gradually, because Hagi Yaki lost market competition with other porcelain's production areas. On the other hand, the pottery's production was satisfactory by the favor of a tea ceremony boom in early modern Japan. In addition there were two development of Hagi Yaki's pottery in 1930's. First, it may be mentioned slogan called `Ichi Raku Ni Hagi San Karatsu (Raku Yaki is the best. Hagi Yaki is the second best. Karatsu Yaki is the third best.)` and in the second it can be pointed out the Mingei Movement begun by Muneyoshi YANAGI and others. In this paper, I concluded that there were many non-industrialized production areas of potteries and porcelain in Japan, because of the Japanese consumers' diversity of likings and aesthetic sense.続きを見る
