九州大学農学部附属粕屋演習林とその周辺の鳥類について，1983～84年に調査を実施し，12目26科69種の生息を確認した.福岡県内における季節移動の型で分類すると，冬鳥26種（37．7％），留鳥22種（31．9％），夏鳥12種（17．4％），旅烏9種（13．0％）であった．演習林のうち農地や農業用水池に隣接する丘陵地と，三郡山塊の一角をなす山地とでは鳥相が異なっている.これらの林地のほか，植物園的...な整備がすすめられている事務所構内や，牧場の採草地などを含む粕屋演習林は，鳥類に多様な生息環境を提供しており，留鳥や夏鳥の繁殖地，冬鳥の越冬地，旅烏の休息地として，また，冬期の採餌地としての役割を果たしているといえる.定期調査時以外に観察記録された2目5科7種を加え，計14目31科76種が本演習林の鳥類目録として記録された．
Surveys on avian fauna were carried out in two types of habitat, i. e. mountain forest with conifer plantation or broad leaved trees, and hill forest adjacent to cultivated fields, in Kasuya Forest of Kyushu University. The sum total of 69 species of birds including 27 winter visitors, 21 residents, 12 summer visitors and 9 transients were recorded in the study areas. In the mountain forests the dominant species were Zosterops japonica and Hypsipetes amaurotis in summer and Turdus naumanni or Zosterops japonica in winter. Having various types of vegetation, Kasuya Forest is considered to be very important as a breeding and feeding site and also as a resting place for wild birds.続きを見る
