Water stress on crop often occurs when crops are grown at dry area or greenhouse, and has an influence on quantity of transpiration and crops yield greatly. The cultivation experiment about plant response to water stress was conducted in a drying process using psychrometer method which was the most suitable method in dry states more than pF3 and also measured water velocity in crop. As results, it became clear from the viewpoint of water velocity in crop that water stress began to affect plant transpiration exceeded around pF3 that is depletion of moisture content for normal growth. In addition, the plant was not able to use most of the water in the soil when water potential near of pF4 that is wilting point. Therefore, the validity of wilting point and depletion of moisture content for normal growth was proved from the viewpoint of water velocity in crop.
