This object was to clarify the effect of difference of inoculation method of Bradyrhizobium japonicum USDA110 on production of soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.). Three experimental plots were designed, non-inoculation (NI), seed coating inoculation (SI) and rhizobium culture inoculation (RI) plot. In SI and RI of experimental plot, USDA110 was inoculated at the density of 10^7 cells/seed. Density of indigenous rhizobia in this field was about 5X10^4 cells/g soil. Nodule numbers of SI plot was more than NI and SI plot. And occupation ratio of USDA110 in the nodule on soybean plant of SI plot was high. But the yield (kg/10a) of SI plot was lower than that of RI plot. From these results, it was considered that the excessive nodulation in SI plot by the high inoculation density was caused the competition of photosynthate between nodulation and plant growth and initial growth was repressed. It was thought that more low density of rhizobial inoculation in SI plot was more effective on the soybean production, and that higher density of rhizobial inoculation in RI was more effective on that.
